John Stiff Memorial Park is the largest park in Amarillo and one of the better spots for an off-road run. The park consists of several pedestrian paths, a skate park, and a lake. One can put together 4-5 miles incorporating all the park’s paths, between SW 45th Ave. & W 54th Ave. Also, a loop on the path around McDonald Lake is 0.8 miles. Note: open and exposed.
Longer Run: From the southern end of the park, it’s 1.5 miles to Greenways Park (use Andover Rd.). There’s a 1-mile linear park path running through this new-ish, master-planned neighborhood. You can also run on the quiet neighborhood streets to rack up some additional miles.
