Run the grounds of a grand English manor, and site of the filming of The Dark Knight Rises! Wollaton Hall, centrally located in Notttigham, dates back to the 1580s and was in the Willoughby family for 300 years. The Hall is now a museum, and the grounds of the Hall and Wollaton Park are fantastic for running, featuring grand, tree-lined allées, landscaped gardens, open meadows, and a small lake.

A loop of the Hall grounds and park is 4-5 miles. There are multiple access points. A nice way to start is either at the main entrance off Wollaton Rd., or Lime Tree Avenue, off Middleton Rd. Note the Park doesn’t require an admission fee, but there are set opening hours.

For a longer run, enjoy the paths around adjacent Nottingham University and Highfields Park. The park is at the southern end of the university, and features fields and 1.2 mile perimeter path around a lake. To access from Wollaton Park, use Middleton Rd. at the east end or Parkside Rd. at the west end.
