Nuevo Vallarta, a planned resort just north of Puerto Vallarta, has the best beach for running in Puero Vallarta. The wide beach features firm, packed sand and good views of Banderas Bay. There are two sections of beach: south of the Channel, it’s 1.6 km along Playa Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. North of the Channel, one can run for many km north along Nuevo Vallarta Beach.
In addition to the beach, there are some decent roads for running in this area around the numerous golf courses. Our favorite is the Paseo de las Palmas. This nicely landscaped road with a palm-lined median and decent sidewalks, runs for 2.8 km along the west side of the El Tigre golf course.
