Get up early and run the Ancien Medina, the city’s walled historic section. Once the day gets going, the narrow, windy streets are crowded and running in the area would be more difficult. We suggest creating your own route, but have mapped a 6 km loop as a guideline.
Mendoubia Garden. Google Street View
Start at the landmark Grand Socco Square, where you can run around this plaza and then into Mendoubia Garden. Then, head toward the water through the Ancien Medina, creating your own route along the hilly, narrow streets and alleys. Make your way to the Dar Al-Baroud Tower on the waterfront. Then head slightly west to make sure you run the Bab Bhar Stairs to the Bab Al Bahr gate — an old gate with a scenic overlook. There’s a path from Bab Al Bahr toward the Bab Kasbah, which are the two gates at the western end of the Medina. From Bab Kasbah, run for 0.5 km along Rue Assad Ibn al Farrat to the nicely landscaped Marshan Park toward the Marshan Palace. Then run toward the water through the paths around the Merkala Gardens, east along the waterfront path, and then back through the Medina for the return.

Asilah is a great spot for a visit and a destination run! Enjoy a 6 km 'runseeing' tour featuring a waterfront promenade, park, and a section along the 15-century rampart and through the historic Medina.
Great spot for running just west of Tangier. Wooded park featuring several km of trails through a Mediterranean landscape on a combination of wide dirt paths and some more rugged options. There are some great sea views.
Run at this spot that's the northwestern point in Africa, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar where the Atlantic & Mediterranean meet. Very scenic and very hilly! Good network of low-trafficked roads, gravel paths, and some more rugged trails.
The waterfront promenade is the signature run in Tangier. One can run for 8.5 km along the water, enjoying great sea views. There are 5 km on a wide sidewalk along Ave. Mohammed VI and 3.5 km along Route de la Plage, which isa more scenic, dedicated path.
