This is a terrific ‘runseeing’ tour of Chișinău that has it all: main sites in the historic center, large & important parks, a lake loop, Cascade Stairs, and a running track! The full route is nearly 12 km, which can be shortened by doing less in the parks or dividing this into a couple of routes. Fairly hilly!

An appropriate start point is at the Triumphal Arch with a loop around Cathedral Park and the important Metropolitan Cathedral. To the south of the park is the National Opera & Ballet theater, and to the south the main commercial center with Sky Tower. Then run into the adjacent Stephen the Great Park, which features a monument, landscaped trails, and busts of Romanian writers. Head west, passing the National History and Fine Arts Museums, and Str. Bodoni to enter Morilor Park. Do the 2.5 km loop around the lake (nice water views!), and be sure to run the Cascade Stairs leading at the northeastern end, which lead to a fountain. Cross over into Dendrariu Park, another nice park which fountains, gardens, sports fields, and trails. A loop is 3-4 km. At the south end of the park is a running track at Dinamo Stadium. Head back east to the start point.
Shorter Run: Eliminate Morilor or Dendrariu park, or don’t do the full loop
Longer Run: Additional paths in the parks.

This large park in the southern part of Chișinău is a great spot for a run. There are 8-9 km of non-overlapping rolling hill paths, combination of open & wooded landscape, and three small lakes. There are 500 species of shrubs and flora, and roses in season!
Large park in the northeastern part of Chișinău with 5-6 km of mainly wooded paths and three small lakes. We've mapped a 5.5 km perimeter loop. Can add with paths in Râșcani Park south of Str. Alecu Russo.
Recently renovated park in the Buiucani district in the northwestern outskirts of Chișinău. 3-4 of scenic lakeside paths, including the Bridge of Love.
Large botanical garden in the southern part of Chișinău, featuring 10,000 species of plants and trees, as well as a reservoir. Lovely series of walking paths, making for a 5-6 km loop. Add on with path across the R2 road, which skirts Muzeul Satului Lake.
