The U.S. National Arboretum, located in northeast Washington, D.C., is a great spot for a run. The 451-acre arboretum features numerous themed gardens and collections. There are 9 miles of roadways, and several miles of paths. The Arboretum is free, hours 8am-5pm.
We suggest creating your own route. A loop of the ‘perimeter’ is ~3.5 miles, with numerous additional roadways & paths. This MAP is a helpful resource. Note that the roads do not feature sidewalks or a shoulder, but they’re very lightly trafficked. The best area for off-road paths is the western section of the Arboretum, off Azalea Rd. NE. NOTE: HILLY
