Ten Mile Beach offers one of the best beach running opportunities along the Mendocino Coast. This wide beach, part of Mackerricher State Park in Fort Bragg, is about 3.5 miles long (so we’re not sure why it’s called Ten Mile Beach). It’s generally an excellent beach for running — wide, with firm packed sand (except near high tide). There are wonderful sunsets from this beach.

The south end of the beach is off Ward Ave., just north of the Mackerricher Trail. The north end is at the Ten Mile River Bridge. At the northern end, there are some beautiful dunes that can be explored.

Add-Ons: Wonderful coastal bluff running along the 5-mile Mackerricher Trail just south, which continues as the Noyo Headlands Trail.
