For some hills and trails that are fairly centrally located in Chongqing, head to Hong’En Temple Forest Park (Hongensi Forest Park) — the second-largest park in Chongqing. Located in the Jiangbei District, the park sits atop the 400m Longjing Hill, with its famous Hong’En Pagoda. There’s a Tourist Reception Center off Guijing Rd. that can help in planning your route!
For running, this park is fairly hilly and challenging. For an easier option, combine the Ecological Trail/Lower Ring Path & Fitness Trail for a 2-3 km loop. Other runs in the park will be hillier, with some stairs and also some paths that have less even footing. A full park loop can be 7-9 km, using the perimeter trails.
