In the Huckarde district in western Dortmund, we love running the paths of Revierpark Wischlingenn and some of the cycle paths along the Roßbach canal.

Revierpark Wischlingenn

This park has nicely laid gravel paths passing through a combination of open & wooded terrain. There’s a lake at the southern end. Note: hilly!  The park also features swimming, ice skating, and other recreational facilities.

A loop of the park’s perimeter is ~2.7 km, and you can add another ~1 km with the interior paths. It’s also possible to add another ~2 km by taking the path off Wischlinger Weg and running along the south end of the lake.

Canal Path

Just across Wischlinger Weg at the northwest end of the park, there are cycle paths along the narrow Roßbach canal that run both south for ~2.5 km to Steinhammer Park. It’s pleasantly green, and makes for a nice run alongside the Revierpark.
