Cornwall Park, in the southern part of Auckland, is home the famous One Tree Hill, and in fact, a number of other hills which make this seemingly easy park run a pleasantly surprising challenge. Slice back and forth through the 670 acre park’s nicely paved trails, or loop around the perimeter for views of rolling farmland and all the cattle your heart desires. We’ve mapped a 6 km loop from the visitors center looping out to all the park’s green spaces, including a sprint up One Tree Hill.

You might want trail running shoes if you opt for the perimeter as it can sometimes be muddy, but it is absolutely lovely on a foggy morning. The majestic obelisk located on One Tree Hill is a marker for the final resting place of Sir John Logan Campbell, who gifted the land to the people of New Zealand in 1901.

Prefer running with a group? Cornwall Park hosts Parkrun, a free weekly 5K, every Saturday at 8 am.
