Benchakitti Forest Park

Opened to honour Queen Sirikit’s 72nd birthday in 2004, Benchakitti Forest Park is located in a busy, skyscraper-bedecked neighborhood next to the Convention Center. Like Lumphini Park, Benchakitti Park is one of the most popular places to run in Bangkok. The park is dominated by a huge lake in the centre. The best bet for a run in Benchakitti is the ~2 km walking/running path around its perimeter. There are distance markers and a water fountain.  There are additional paths in the park as well.

Longer Run: Combine with Lumphini Park, using the Lumphini-Benchakitti Park Walkway path, located at the northern end of both parks.

Essentials
  • 2 km track around the lake
  • Southeast entrance of the park is a good spot to start
  • Skytrain: Asok; MRT: Sirikit National Convention Centre and Sukhumvit

Did this today. The loop was empty at midday, gardens well maintained, markers on the path to show distance travelled and a little water fountain to splash my face with after. Am usually a trail runner but enjoyed a couple of loops as I rarely run in cities. Cheers for the tip!
