Barbados

West Coast Boardwalk

Courtesy: barbados.org

The West Coast Boardwalk offers a nice off road, along the water running opportunity near Holetown. The boardwalk goes for 2.5 km one-way, from just north of Sandy Lane Beach, heading north to Heron Bay, near the Colony Club Beach and Petrea Gardens.  So it’s a nice 5k (3 mile) out and back. You are along the water much of the time. Some sections of this run are on a boardwalk and others are on the beach (i.e. the boardwalk is not continuous), and the beach sections might be softer sand.

Along the way, you’ll see some lovely tropical flowers, the mangroves and estuary from which Holetown gets its name, Folkestone Maring Park, the winding wall of Coral Beach Resort, and several wonderful beaches.

Longer run: Continue north along the beach from Heron Bay.
