Near Barcelona Airport: Gavà Mar Promenade

There’s some decent running near Barcelona’s El Prat Airport! If you get stuck out there or want to catch a run before hopping on a flight, we recommend staying in the Gavà Mar area, where there’s a cluster of hotels and a promenade along the beach (Platja Gavà/Castelldefels).

A wide, dedicated seafront promenade runs parallel to the Passeig Marítim road for nearly 9 km. The east end is in Gavà Mar, and the west end is at the Port Ginesta marina. Some sections are right along the water and others are the Balearic Sea is a bit away from the path. The beach itself is long and wide, and features soft sand and is situationally runnable near the water.
