For a scenic and enjoyable waterfront run away from the crowds and bustle of Barcelona, we recommend the Sitges waterfront promenade. Sitges is a coastal town located 45 km southwest of Barcelona, known for its Mediterranean beaches, compact & festive old town, and the Parc Natural del Garraf just inland. One can put together a waterfront scenic run of nearly 4.5 km, from the port area south to the Llacuna de la Riera de Ribes nature preserve. Bonus: most of the route is lit at night!

The north/east end is at the Sitges Port. There’s a wide path right along the marina, with many lovely boats to gawk at! Continue onto a gravel waterfront path, which winds its way for 0.7 km to San Sebastian beach (Platja de Sant Sebastià). This is a scenic section, with nice water views. Continue along the beach, then wind your way around the historic center, passing the Palau de Maricel museum, Església de Sant Bartomeu, and other sites. The next ~3 km on the Passeig Marítim along the beach. It’s a wide, palm-lined promenade, ending at the Carrer les Anquines near the nature preserve.
