A wide, crushed gravel trail runs for 3.6 miles between Memorial Park just off I-5 and Lake Whatcom. Good footing, and mainly wooded. There are some nice views as you cross a pedestrian bridge at Alabama St., just past the 2-mile mark. The trail passes the Milwaukee Road Wood Railroad Trestle in Whatcom Falls Park, and ends at the Scudder Pond Nature Preserve at Alabama St.
There’s also a nice variety of scenic, well-marked trails in Whatcom Falls Park, ranging from a wider, main trail to a series of smaller, narrow trails. Combination of wooded, and some trails near the lake and around a small pond. Don’t miss the views of Whatcom Falls! TRAIL MAP
