Not only are the Birmingham Botanical Gardens are great place to spot blossoms in bloom, running is encouraged on the 2 miles of paths throughout the grounds. The team at the Gardens has composed a map to help you get the most out of your jog through the gardens. Start out at the main entrance, then bear LEFT through the Barber Alabama Woodlands towards the Japanese Gardens. From there, loop north through the Asian Glade, visiting fern, vegetable, and flower gardens. Finally, wrap south around the bog and formal gardens back to the start. Complete another loop (or more) for a longer tour, or combine with our Jemison Trail loop.
Note: Hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in spring/summer and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in fall/winter. Admission and parking are free.
