Blackstone River Bikeway

Creative Commons 3.0

The Blackstone River Bikeway is a nice opportunity for an off-road run in Cumberland, Lincoln, and Woonsocket. The paved multi-use trail follows the Blackstone River for 10 miles. Starting near Valley Falls Heritage Park in Cumberland (8 miles northeast of Providence), the path heads northwest through Lincoln, ending at the Rivers Edge Parking Area in Woonsocket. There are some nice water views along the way (though not continuous).  A couple of particularly nice sections are Blackstone River State Park (4-mile mark in Lincoln) and the Manville Dam in Manville (mile 7). Nice colors in fall!

Add-Ons: South of Cumberland, the Blackstone River Greenway continues on  decent, quiet roads (follow the bike sharrows) to Pawtucket and Providence, eventually connecting to the East Bay Bike Path.
