A loop around Glenmore Reservoir, located 15 km southwest of downtown, is one of Calgary’s classic runs. It’s a popular spot for boating in summer, and for its walking and cycling paths. A full loop around the reservoir is 14 km. It’s a paved multi-use path, with separate pedestrian paths in some sections. The landscape is a combination of open and wooded, with water views for part of the way. Pro Tips: Gorgeous in autumn. For a post run snack, the Good Earth Cafe at Glenmore Landing.

A good start point is in North Glenmore Park, on the north side of the reservoir. Some of the nicer sections, with water views, are in North Glenmore Park and South Glenmore Park. Sites along the way. Glenmore Sailing Club, the Calgary Canoe and Rowing Club, the Weaselhead Conservation area, and Heritage Park. The path also passes the Rocky View hospital and helicopter pad. There’s a bit of a tricky section to follow at the east end @ Heritage Park.
