Lanzarote: Seafront Promenades

Trail runners flock to Lanzanote for theĀ  challenging, hilly trails on the island’s volcanic landscape. But there’s also some gentler, bucolic seaside running showcasing the island’s beaches and whitewashed villages. Below are some of our favorite seaside promenades:

Google Street View

Arrecife to Playa Blanca Coastal Run. Up to 13 km one-way, 56m gain. A gorgeous run on a wide, palm-lined seafront promenade on the eastern side of Lanzarote. From the port town of Arrecife, the path goes for up to 13 km south to the viewpoint at Playa Grande. The path passes by several wide beaches, which themselves are runnable, situationally. ROUTE MAP

Southern Side Coastal Run
. Up to 10 km one-way, 38m gain.Ā  On the southern end of Lanzarote, a pretty seafront promenade runs almost continuously for 10 km from Playa de las Coloradas southwest to the Punta Pechiguera lighthouse (faro). Some sections of the path are above the rocky coast, and others are along beaches. There are some especially scenic viewpoints. The route includes a 1 km out and back jaunt to theĀ  ROUTE MAP
