Features:
A registered National Natural Landmark. Garden of the Gods features dramatic views, and 300′ towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak. This popular natural tourist attraction features 15 miles of scenic trails through this beautiful “garden” of sandstone rock formations. The best loop for running is actually a combination of several trails through the main sights of the park. Combine the Palmer Trail, the Buckskin Charlie Trail, The Scotsman Trail, The Bretag Trail, and the Ute trail for a reliable 3.5 mile loop.
Among the other trails, some are better for running, while others are a bit more challenging and good for hiking. For a challenging paved run, the Garden Drive/Juniper Way loop is 6 miles with a 15% grade. A good map is available at the Visitor Center.
Don’t feel like running alone? You’re in luck — the park hosts a 5k Fun Run every Thursday evening. Register ahead of time online.
