The path along the Coventry Canal makes for a pleasant, easy to follow running route in Coventry. Starting from near the city center, the former tow path, now a multi-use trail, runs right alongside the canal for 5.5 miles north to Hawkesbury Junction. The surface is mainly gravel.
Starting from the Canal Basin area just north of the Ringway, the follow the path along the east bank of the canal. The first couple of miles feature various sculptures and art installations, and nice water views. The path becomes progressively greener and more pastoral outside the city. It is also narrow in spots. At the 4.2 mile mark, there’s a connector path to Longford Park. The north end of the path is in Hawkesbury Junction, just past the M6 crossing.
