Coventry is a city in the West Midlands county of England and dates to the early Middle Ages. The city is surrounded by the West Midlands Greenbelt, which form a natural geographic barrier. It’s an industrial, cathedral, and university city. There’s presence of the Coventry Canal, River Sowe, and numerous parks and greens make for some lovely options for running in Coventry.
Start with our Coventry ‘runseeing’ tour, which includes Cathedral Square, other central sites & parks, and War Memorial Park. For some waterside running, there’s 5.5 miles along the Coventry Canal. In the northeast part of the city, there are some nice options combining River Sowe footpaths and two ‘linear parks’. Among the best places to run in Coventry is Coombe Abbey Country Park, with paths through historic woodlands, gardens and lakes. For a longer off-road run, the Kenilworth Greenway runs travels for 5 miles between Berkswell and Kenilworth.
