Vesteys Beach to East Point Reserve

Creative Commons: By Bidgee

A popular route for both locals and tourists alike, Vesteys Beach to East Point Reserve provides an easily accessible paved track with plenty of shade and scenery to enjoy. Starting at the popular green space of Vestey’s Lagoon, which features picnic facilities, water and 24-hour toilets, you can head north on the dedicated path adjacent to East Point Rd.

The path passes multiple parks and Lake Alexander, which is a safe year-round saltwater swimming lake. There are uninterrupted views of Darwin and Fannie Bay…and perhaps a few wallabies to spot. The open grounds at the East Point Preserve waterfront park are popular for exercise classes and there are facilities available before starting the return journey.

The distance is 5.7 km one-way, so do the full out and back or choose your distance.  For more, add the ~1 km loop around Lake Alexander, or additional jogging paths in the area.
