If you’re in downtown Orlando, the running options are a mixed bag. It’s a bit of an urban jungle, but there are also several pleasant lakes, and a downtown Urban Trail that make for some decent running. We’ve put together two central Orlando tours that can be mix & matched. This one is focused on the CBD, and loops of Lake Eola and Lake Ivanhoe.
Start at South St. in the CBD. At the Public Library, enjoy the 0.8 km loop around Lake Eola. There’s a dedicated path and nice views. Then follow N. Rosalind north and the Colonial Opas Trail to then enjoy the ~3 mile loop around Lake Ivanhoe. You’ll have to negotiate a highway tangle around I-4, but generally there’s a good sidewalk/pedestrian path. For the return, Magnolia Ave. or N Orange Ave. are decent options.
