Space Coast, FL

Rockledge Drive

Running Zone

Rockledge Drive is one of the better road runs in the area, following the coast of the Indian River for about 6.5 miles in a lovely residential village. Water views much of the way, with a pretty canopy and nice homes. It’s a famous section of the Space Coast Marathon, reaching from Oakledge Park to Cocoa Village.

Most runners start at the Cocoa Riverfront Park, near the Space Coast Office of Tourism, and head south. One can run up to 13 miles out and back, turning around at the junction with US-1. Though there’s not much of a sidewalk/shoulder for most of the route, traffic is relatively light as cars mainly come from neighborhood residents.

Add-Ons: At the north end of Rockledge Drive, the Cocoa Riverfront Park and the Hubert Humphrey Bridge (Merritt Island Causeway) are fun add-ons. Note: narrow shoulder on Causeway.
