Frankfurt Highlights Tour

Pedelecs at wikivoyage

This ‘runseeing’ tour of Frankfurt hits both the historic and scenic highlights of the main part of the city. It’s a great way to get oriented in Frankfurt while also getting a bit of a workout! The route was inspired by On! Running guides Florian Neuschwander and Ambika Chanrai.

Start in at the Frankfurt Museum. and run through the heart of Altstadt. Then, north through to Zeil, a popular shopping promenade.  Head east on Zeil, to the Friedberger Anlage, and then west for 2 km through the green belt through several parks to Bockenheimer Anlage. Use Leerbachstraße to head north to Grüneburgpark, the lovely botanical gardens. Do a ~1.5 km loop around the garden paths (add-ons: Palmengarten, Goethe University Frankfurt). Head south briefly in Siesmayerstraße, and then LEFT on Bockenheimer Landstraße, a main road through the city’s west end (add-on: Rothschildpark) to the Opera House. From there, run for 1 km south through a green space amidst the skyscrapers, highlighted by the Eurotower, to the river for the final 0.5 km.

Add-Ons: River paths, additional park paths.
