San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park

Creative Commons 2.5: Ebyabe

San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park, located about 11 miles northwest of Gainesville, offers some nice opportunities for easy to moderate trail running. The large state park features 20+ miles of trails designated for off-road cycling, while the southern part of the park has about 15 miles of hiking only trails. These trails have decent footing and meander through wooded terrain. Note: entrance fee required.

A good longer loop is the 5.8 mile Spring Grove Trail. It can be shortened by taking the Hammock Cutoff or the Sandhill Cutoff. Runners are permitted to run on the bike trails, but should keep their eye out.
