Lough Atlalia (Lake) Loop

This is a nice run along Lough Atlalia (lake). It’s a loop of 4.4 km, nearly all on a dedicated waterfront path, with nice water views. Do a couple of laps, or combine with parts of our ‘Runseeing’ Tour or Galway Waterfront routes!

Start at Eyre Square, and run north on the Lough Atalia Walkway. It’s a combination sidewalk/waterfront path on a busy-ish road that goes for 1 km along the northern side of the lake. Then continue following the lake loop, on a combination of sidewalk and dedicated path. Join “The Line” Railway Side Walk to complete the loop to Eyre Square.

Longer Run: Join the waterfront route headed south for up to another 8 km along the water to Salthill.
