Features:
Outside of guest-only jogging tracks in the resort areas, Gloucester Ave, or “The Hip Strip” is the best bet for running in Montego Bay. This busy commercial area is chock full of restaurants, galleries, and shops, and it’s the main spot to eat, drink, and play in Jamaica’s most popular resort town. A nice wide sidewalk runs the length of the strip from Closed Harbour Beach Park in the south to Dead End Beach near the Sangster International Airport in the north. Runners will pass Montego Bay staples including Margaritaville, The Royal Decameron, and Sandals. To add some sand running to the mix, drop down to the public .5 km Closed Harbour Beach Park, Aqua Sol Theme Park, or Doctor’s Cove Bathing Club (admission $3 USD). The strip is often busy with tourists and street vendors, so it’s best to go early in the day when it’s less crowded (you’ll also beat the heat).
