The waterfront path is one of the easiest and most scenic runs in Juneau. There are wonderful views of the channel, Mount Juneau, and surrounding mountains and glaciers.

The best section starts downtown at the Douglas Bridge as the Juneau Seawalk. The path is a mainly wood surface and continues south for 1.5 miles south to just past the USS Juneau Memorial. From downtown, you can also head north along the Aurora Harbor Way for 1 mile to the Juneau Yacht Club. This section is mainly a series of parking areas along the marina, but it’s runnable and there are good views.

We also recommend running across the Douglas Bridge. There’s a pedestrian path protected from cars, and there are great views to Douglas Island on the 0.5 mile bridge.

Add-Ons: North of the Yacht Club, it’s possible to run along Egan Dr. (Highway 7). There are wide open views of the water and mountains along this road. Note that this is a highway with two lanes for cars in each direction, but there is a wide shoulder.
