Another favorite route outside of Kansas City is the Prairie Creek Greenway, located just south of Platte City and near Kansas City International Airport (west of I-435). This asphalt path forms a loop rather than a straight one-way. The full loop is 6.8 miles. There are seven pedestrian bridge crossings and connections to many of the local neighborhoods.
Start at NW 136th St. & Summit Pkwy. Overall, the western 3 miles of the loop are the most scenic, with the prettiest part being the 1.5 miles through the Prairie Creek Greenway park space. The eastern part of the loop is more of a path alongside Running Horse Rd.
