Weiwuying Park is a centrally located green oasis about 4 km east of the waterfront. The park is large enough to support a standalone run of a few km. There are pleasant paths around the park, a combination of open and shaded, paved and gravel. A loop around the perimeter is a little over 3 km (includi
ng Zhongzheng Park, but can be another 1-2 km using some of the interior paths. One of the highlights of the park is the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, an impressive facility containing four performance halls beneath an undulating roof inspired by local Banyan trees.
For a longer run, about 1 km east are Kaohsiung Fengshan Stadium and Fengxi Sports Park, with some paths and a decent running track.
