Kenosha & Racine, WI

Kenosha Waterfront & Pike Bike Trail

Google Street View

This is a scenic run in Kenosha along Lake Michigan. It’s possible to run nearly 5 miles between Eichelman Park (just south of Kenosha) and Carthage College. Most of the route is on the Pike Bike Trail, a paved multi-use path. There are good views of the lake most of the way, passing two lighthouses and through several parks.

Start at any point! From Eichelman Park, head north for 1 mile into central Kenosha, where there’s a nice loop around the marina/harbor. The Pike Bike Trail starts in Simmons Island Park, continuing north through JF Kennedy Park, Pennoyer Park, & Alford Park, paralleling Highway 32. Its a nice ribbon of green, with good lake views. The path ends at Carthage College, where there are some additional pedestrian paths and a running track.

Add-Ons: Run Right off the trail are three National Register Historic Districts, with scenic, pleasant streets for running: Along Third Avenue, and the area around the Civic Center, and Library Park/Simmons Neighborhood.
