This is a guide to the best places to run in Kenosha and Racine. These Wisconsin cities along Lake Michigan lie between Chicago and Milwaukee.
The highlights of running in this area are lakeside paths in both Kenosha and Racine. In Racine, we enjoy running on the Root River Pathway, a pleasant linear park path. Just inland, there are some longer multi-use trails, notably the MRK Trail and the County Bike Trail, which is divided into two sections. Another running treat is the nationally renowned cross country course at UW – Parkside.
Runners should be prepared for winter running in this area. See also our guides to Milwaukee, Chicago, & Chicago Suburbs.
