University of Wisconsin – Parkside & Parkside Cross Country Course

visitkenosha.com

For a good destination run in Kenosha, we recommend the UW – Parkside Campus and adjacent Parkside Cross Country Course. The Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course has been the site of national meets. There are 700 acres, a combination of woods and open terrain, and some rolling hills. The course is well marked with directional signs and color coded distance markers every quarter-mile and every kilometer of all race routes (3K, 4K, 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K). The surface is grass or natural terrain. Warm up at the running track at the UW Parkside Athletics Center, just across Petrifying Springs Rd.

Just across the way is the UW – Parkside campus, which has some nice pedestrian paths inside the University Loop Rd. and a running track at the southern end of campus.

Essentials
  • Marked 3K, 4K, 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K courses
  • Course has some rolling hills
  • Parking lots just across Petrifying Springs Rd.
