The Rabindra Sarobar Lake in the south of Kolkata is a wonderful place for a waterfront run. There is a 4 km stone-paved path encircling the lake in a park-like setting, which is perfect for laps or a short run. Statues, museums, and gardens along the way keep the scenery interesting. Runners can begin at the Lake Gardens Metro Stop and follow the loop either clockwise or counter-clockwise around the lake. While in the area, runners can also check out the nearby Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple or the Lake Garden Graffiti Warehouse.
Add-On: Just north of the lake is Deshapriya Park, a small park with a jogging track that is 0.5 km around.
