This route has three ‘sections’. Start with a 3.7 km loop around King’s Island, with waterside paths around the perimeter and great views to King John’s Castle. Take Bridge St. to the waterside Arthur’s Quay Park. The next section is a 4 km loop around Limerick’s commercial centre, using O’Connell St. out to New St. and Henry St. back. We’ve included a loop around People’s Park. The final 2 km is along the Shannon River on the historic boardwalks between the Shannon Bridge and the Thomond Bridge.

Shorter Option: can eliminate one of the the three ‘sections’ above.

Longer Option: Do the 3 km loop around the City Canal, or add on with more paths along the Shannon River.
