Rock Island Trail

Among Lincoln’s 134 miles of trails, the Rock Island Trail is one of the best for running. The paved multi-use path is centrally located, connecting several key Lincoln sites and parks as it heads south of the city for 7 miles. The northern end of the path is just east of the University of Nebraska, and passes through the Lincoln Zoo, Antelope Park, Bishop Heights Park, Peterson Park and provides a connection to Tierra Park. Much of the trail is in parks, and there are connections to additional trails. Key distances and segments, headed north to south:

1.2m       Lincoln Zoo. Connect to Billy Wolff Trail. Also the Woods Park neighborhood
1.7m       A St. Antelope Park
2.3m      South St./Memorial Park

3.9m      Helen Boosalis Trail
4.1m      Tierra Briarhurst Park
5.5.m     S 14th St.
