Wasserwald — ‘Water Forest’ Park

Creative Commons: Franz Groß

For a large park run all off-road in Linz, we recommend Wasserwald. This park, located ~6 km south of the city center, is known as a ‘water forest park’, owing the large reservoir at the park’s southeastern end that supplies much of Linz’s drinking water.

There are several km of paths in Wasserwald — a combination of wooded trails and more open areas. There’s a 2.1 km running path, an extensive outdoor fitness course, and numerous fields/athletic facilities. A path also heads southeast of the main park to the water treatment plant.
