Run a section of Long Island’s longest paved multi-use trail, which passes through several parks and wetlands preserves. The 11.3 mile trail runs between Plainview/Old Bethpage and Massapequa. The prettiest sections of the path are in Massapequa Preserve and Bethpage State Park The are additional paths and trails in the parks along the way.

Starting at the south end in Massapequa, a wooded section of trail heads north through Massapequa Preserve for 3.6 miles. Cross the the Southern State Pkwy., continuing north for 3 miles, paralleling Bethpage State Pkwy. (this section not as scenic). The next section is for 3+ miles through Bethpage State Park (additional trail options here), ending at I-495.

Additional Options: There are additional trails (unpaved) in the Massapequa Preserve and Bethpage State Park, near the bike path. Also, numerous additional, unpaved trails for running north of I-495 (the noethern end of the bike path): through Manetto Hills Park and Trail View State Park. A couple of miles east is West Hills Park, which has several miles of trails.
