Guia Municipal Park

Guia Park is the largest park on the Macau peninsula, and a popular green space for locals and visitors alike. There are gardens, a small church, the world’s shortest cable car, tunnels (former air raid shelters), and at the summit, a fortress, lighthouse, and great views!

We highly recommend running in Guia, although it’s hard to escape the hills. The best bet for running is on one of the smaller roads or trails (not seen on Google Maps) that basically parallel the main loop road. It’s just shy of 2 km and has 215 feet of elevation (not overly steep).  A good place to start the run is Jardim da Flora, take the steps to one of the trails, and do the loop. There are billboard maps that have trail details.

Essentials
  • A loop is about 2 km
  • About 85m (215 feet), but generally not steep
  • Jardim da Flora is a good place to start
  • Either from Jardim da Flora (Northwest side) or from several pedestrian tunnels connecting west and east sides of the Guia Hill Bus to Jardim da Flora

Guia Park is good place to run and main loop of it is 1.7km long, with some other small trails you can try if you want. I run at Guia park almost every week. It opens 24 hour per day. You can access it from different directions, either from Jardim da Flora (Northwest side) or from several pedestrian tunnels connecting west and east sides of the Guia Hill. Enjoy it!
