Avenue of the Oaks/College Park

Though less than half a mile long, the picturesque Avenue of the Oaks at Spring Hill College is absolutely worth running on any visit to Mobile. These historic oaks form a leafy tunnel over the car-free street leading into campus from Old Shell Road. Runners can park at the shopping area across the street on Old Shell Road and run into campus from here. Continue past the administration center onto Rimes Road and follow it south across Dauphin Street to North Claridge Ridge Road. Then, connect to South McGregor Ave and run north on the sidewalk through this lovely neighborhood and back to Old Shell Road. PRO TIP: Especially beautiful in spring when the magnolias bloom in the first half of May.

Add-On/Longer Run: Very pretty residential streets in the Country Club neighborhood just west of McGregor. Take Wimbledon Dr. to Hillwood Rd. to Country Club Rd.
