This run is focused on beautiful Audubon Park, with an option to add a loop around Tulane University, just north of the park.

Audubon Park

Audubon Park is a city park located in the historic uptown neighborhood of New Orleans. For more than a century, people have enjoyed this urban oasis, with its picnic shelters, playgrounds, tranquil jogging path, and beautiful views. The park was designed in 1898 by John Charles Olmsted, the nephew and adopted son of the famous Frederick Law Olmsted.

Known as one of the most popular routes for running throughout New Orleans, upwards of 3,000 people run under a leafy canopy of live oaks and alongside a little lagoon, each day. This loop will not only take you around the 1.8-mile Olmsted Oval jogging path, and then around the famous Audubon Zoo. Home to over 2,000 animals, the zoo covers 58 acres of land.

Tulane University Campus

For a longer run, head up to the campus of Tulane University, just north of St. Charles Ave. The 110-acre campus is pretty, with a mix of older and more modern buildings. You can create your own route around the network of pedestrian paths. Pass through the main academic quad to the Berger Family Lawn. Retrace your steps or explore the paths at the eastern end of campus, passing through a residential quad and a section of the Loyola University campus.

Add-Ons: Enjoy some of the pretty residential streets in the area, and combine with our Garden District route.
