Head a few miles west of Reading to enjoy the scenic paths around Basildon Park — a 400-acre National Trust property with gorgeous grounds around a restored stately home. There are several miles of trails around fields, gardens, and woodland. It can be uniquely pretty in winter, with nice views of the mansion through bare trees. Note: Set opening times. Admission might be required.
Create your own route, or follow one of the four waymarked ‘walks’, which range from 1/2 mile to 3 miles and can be combined for a longer run.

- Car Park off the A329. Can also take the 143 bus from Reading
