Swinley Forest Trails

For those fancying wooded trail running, Swinley Forest makes for an excellent destination. Located 13 miles southeast of Reading in Bracknell, there are 3000 acres of rolling evergreen forest terrain. The area is popular for running, hiking, and mountain biking. We recommend creating your own route, but it’s probably best for runners to stay off the marked mountain biking trails.

The area is massive. You’ll find an extensive network of trails between the A322 and Foresters Way. Some of the nicest running is at the western end off Foresters Way: Wickham Bushes and Hut Hill. It’s a mix of forest paths, and some lovely open terrain, especially around Hut Hill.

Note: Swinley Forest is part of the Windsor Great Park, managed by the Crown Estate. It’s 20 minutes by car from Windsor.
