Cascade Lake Loop & Other Nearby Trails

Google Street View

There is lovely running in the area of Cascade Lake, which is located only a couple of miles west of downtown Rochester. It’s also walking distance from the Mayo Clinic. Starting from Cascade Lake Park, there’s a paved trail around the lake, making for a 2.2 mile loop. It’s fairly open, with lake views the whole way.

Additional Trails. There are several adjacent trails that allow for a longer run in the Cascade Lake area:

  • Douglas State Trail. Access from the north end of the lake, near the Pillar Sundial. This paved multi-use trail heads north for many miles, combination woods, fields, & farms. ROUTE MAP
  • South of Cascade Trail. A paved multi-use trail heads south from Cascade Lake. From the Mohn Park section of the Cascade Lake loop, take the trail south, then RIGHT along 2nd St., and then paralleling W Circle Dr. for 2 miles to Salem Rd./Bamber Lake. ROUTE MAP. There, you can join our South Fork River to Mayo Lake route.
