Kuşadası: Waterfront Promenade

Creative Commons

Kuşadası is a beach resort town on Turkey’s western Aegean coast. It’s a jumping-off point for visiting nearby Ephesus and is a major cruise ship destination. The best place to run in Kuşadası is along the seafront promenade, which extends along the water and around a couple of marinas, making for a nice 9 km out and back run. The promenade is part dedicated waterfront path and good sidewalk along the road.

Güvercinada Castle: Lutz Langer

Starting near the Lavista Hotel, run on Güvercinada Cd. toward the water, and then take a jaunt out the small island to Güvercinada Castle. Continue following the water, past the port/ship terminal, and continue for another 2 km to Setur Kusadasi Marina, passing the El Heykeli sculpture. There are nice views of the water much of the way. There’s a nice path along the marina. Retrace your steps to the start.

Add-Ons: From our starting point, you can run to the Sevda Tepesi scenic spot, and down to Yılancı Burnu Park, where there’s also a small waterfront path. And 2 km south is a nice 1 km promenade along Ladies Beach (Kadınlar Denizi Plajı).

Note: Beaches fairly narrow and not great for running.
