Varna ‘Runseeing’ Tour

Google Street View

This is a short, 5k ‘runseeing’ tour of the central & historic part of Varna. The older part of the city has a lot of shorter, narrow roads, so it’s difficult to map a route that’s easy to follow. Use our map as a guideline.

Start at the Tourist Office and run south through the City Garden, exploring the older part of the city south of Highway E87 (Bul. Maria Luzia) in the mainly pedestrian zone around the Opera. Continue to the Museum of Revival and the Ethnographic Museum, then head east to the area around the Roman Baths. Turn north to Ul. Odrin to the major Josif roundabout, then passing by the Central entrance to the Sea Garden, where you can add to the route by exploring its paths and Primorski Park. Head north on the wide Bul. Slivnitsa, passing Atlantic Square and continuing to the Levski monument and the Archaeological Museum. Continue north on Bul. Slivnitsa for 0.5 km, then LEFT on Ul. Drini, crossing the E70 to the Central Mosque. Then, LEFT, heading south on Ul. Hristov, to the start.

Add-Ons: Paths of the Sea Garden & Primorski Park, and the waterfront path. Also, explore more of the windy, narrow streets of the historic section.
