Trail runners will find some great options in Golden Sands (Zlatni Pyasatsi) Nature Park. It’s located in the hills above the Golden Sands resort area, 17 km north of Varna. The park is 9.2 km long and 1.2 km wide. It’s a mainly wooded, lush park, with a good variety of fauna and flora.
For trail running, there are four marked, color-coded ‘tourist trails’ and five ‘specialist’ trails. This page has good information on the trails, including their length, level of difficulty, and key sites. The longest trail is the 14 km Yellow Trail. The trails are somewhat but not overly hilly, and the footing varies. An easier option is the cycleway.
