Herb Gray Parkway Trail

Google Street View

If you’re looking for a long, off-road run with some hill repeats, we recommend the Herb Gray Parkway Trail in West Windsor. This relatively new, paved trail runs parallel to the Herb Gray Parkway/Canada 401 for 8 km from Malden Park to just past Howard Ave. and can be combined with our Malden Park/Ojibway Woods route. Although the trail is adjacent to a highway, there’s plenty of green space and scenery as well.

The trailhead is just across from Malden Park, off Malden Rd. Run southeast on the south side of the 401. There are a couple of points along the way where the trail crosses the highway. Continue for up to 8 km to just past Howard Rd. (Rt. 9). It’s 2 km to Seven Sisters Park, 4 km to Huron Church Line Rd., and 5.5 km to Sandwich Parkway. For the return, you can do a loop of sorts by running on the north side of the highway. The total out and back distance is 16 km.

Additional Options in Area: The western end of the trail connects to Malden Park, Ojibway Woods (0.6 km east of the trailhead), Seven Sisters Park, and Spring Garden.

Essentials
  • Up to 15.9 km (9.9 miles) out and back
  • 30m (97 feet) for full out and back
  • Western trailhead is across from Malden Park off Malden Rd.
